Always enjoy your newsletter. I had the same feelings about attending the protest here in Raleigh.

Attending in a purple state feels so meaningful, like you can actually sway a policy maker! I love that my policy makers are on my side, but it makes actions like these feel pointless. Next time I'll fly to you and protest with you. :-)

Doors always open here! We canvased fiercely in our district and made elected Dems to state offices here, feel really proud of that. And while we didn’t flip the general assembly here, we were able to elect people that now prevents a R’s from a supermajority!! That is huge for us!

So spot on with the magic of getting away. Have you ever read Jenny Slate's essay collection Lifeforms? There's a gem I think would resonate with you called Permission of the Dishwasher (or something quite similar).
